What a cool place this Historic Streetcar Station was for this family session! It is a neat little picnic ground that I will be sure to brig my family to once the snow melts!
Seems like I just did Silas’ newborn photos!! Time goes by so fast. I keep thinking about how my kids are still so little and I constantly wish away all the sleepless (yes they still wake up at night) nights. My kids are already 3 and 6! Yet I know that if I wished away these nights my kiddos will be out of the house and I will have no child to cuddle with at 3 am. I am learning (as hard as it is to keep getting up at night) to just soak it in. Soak in the snuggles, smell their freshly bathed fuzzy hair as it rests on my chin.
As soon as I hear one child yelling for me, I (usually) grimace and maybe say a swear word, but then I love up on them!
Seeing how tiny little Silas is, reminds me of those snuggles all night!! I remember playing with their little toes as I fed them in the rocking chair. I ALSO remember my head nodding off wishing Beckham would JUST GO TO SLEEP! This is life! As I have learned, one can not be happy or grateful in their lives if they have never experienced hardship or grief. In my experience, the greater the hardships, the happier you then become!
Saying this, and I know it sounds counterintuitive, I am grateful for all of serious S%#@ I have experienced in my life… more on that another time 🙂
I will tel you one thing I am excited about now that they are a little older… I am leaning how to cook. I have dug out my dusty sewing machine (seriously, it was gross!). I am organizing my house. I am having dates w my husband (yes they may only be on the porch with a cup of tea or wine once the kids are sleeping, but it still counts!). I am seeing my friends again. Sure it’s not like it was before kids, but I would never want to give that up!
I am excited to have many more dates with my husband as well as my friends… especially this beautiful woman, man and child in these photos! One of the best people I know with huge hearts! Happy 1st birthday little Silas!
