What a cool place this is! The Rock Island Swing Bride in Inver Grove Heights has so much history! As it is a non functional swing bridge at this point, it has been turned into a beautiful park! This family chose to do their extended family photo shot here because it has meaning and memories here from years ago. We were all surprised to see the changes that were made here at this historic landmark, including sculptures and bridge remnants as pieces of art throughout the park. This swing bridge did not completely go over the to the over side of the river bank, but you COULD walk out on it quite a ways. Beautiful boats, sunsets and a cool breezes made this that much more of a an experience for the kids (and us)!
This swing bridge family session was fun for me as I have done the kid’s newborn photos and have had the privilege to watch them grow. Carrie and Robert “handsome Rob” (thanks hubby Brett for this shout out!) are friends of ours over the years so it was fun to see them again! They brought their whole family..mom, dad, brother and fiancĂ© (who is getting married in February by the way, woohoo! Congrats!) and we had a ton of fun!
Once these sweet kiddos warmed up to me and the strange thing in my hand that kept covering my face (camera), it was a blast to watch them crawl all over playing together, laughing and giggling. It looked like they were wrestling! It was pretty cute! Grandma, grandpa AND uncle all in these photos will be a session of photos to cherish for sure!
