Fields of Glory
Glory. This is such a strong word, but all deserved to this family who brought their child into this world during these times. What a crazy road this has been! We were unable to do this beautiful mama’s maternity photos, and the Lifestyle Newborn session needed to be improvised due to pandemic circumstances! We ended up doing an outdoor newborn shoot “lifestyle-ish!” And let me tell you, this was SUPER fun! They were shinning! (like literally, compared to my hot mess-ed postpartum self who could barely walk after birth!)
One thing to note, this sweet little girl did not make one peep the entire time we shot! Such a content, beautiful child!
As some parks were not quite opened up yet, and I have basically been hibernating to the extreme during all of this, I knew one spot VERY well: my backyard! The fields were popping up with wild flowers everywhere and the grasses were at perfect heights. With the dreamy sunset glistening on the tall grass, I knew this would make a perfect spot for these guys!
Their optimism was such a breath of fresh air to me! Going into this, I wasn’t sure how they were going to be feeling having their baby born during a pandemic, and all of the restrictions that come with it. They surprised me by saying they have taken this extra time of him working from home and a “longer maternity leave” to grow their bonds stronger with their little girl. Loved these amazing souls! I think what I like about my job is that my “clients” are not always just clients to me! Many of them turn into someone to call over for a cup of tea or coffee! I feel so blessed to have served these guys to the best that I can last weekend! Congrats!
